Crossroads IV
The dark planet drifted ever closer to one of the Heart's galaxies. It had no apparent motive force, it just moved in an unwavering line towards the closest stars. The Heart had untold thousands of galaxies, like any other universe, but if the new particle infected one, it would have enough mass to send tendrils to all of them. The Heart tensed and flexed, sending repulsive waves of kinetic energy back at the dark planet. It wavered, and halted momentarily, shifting in the invisible winds. It rolled and rustled, continents of black powder rising and falling like waves. Eventually, one remained, and sharpened to a point, all other mass falling
